It’s not like Apple to come out with a bunch of new announcements without hosting a grand event of some kind, but we’re just going to assume the California-based company is busy working on a jaw-dropping iPhone 8.

Red is the new Jet Black

The biggest of its new announcements is a new red aluminium version of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The new colour is in support of AIDS charity (RED). Apple has worked with the charity before to produce other coloured products but this particular edition marks the first time Apple has created a red iPhone.

“Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition all the way to today’s lineup of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a gorgeous red finish is our biggest (PRODUCT)RED offering to date in celebration of our partnership with (RED), and we can’t wait to get it into customers’ hands.”

The special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone starts at AED 2,999 and goes on sale on March 24.

Goodbye iPad Air 2

Essentially ending the reign of the iPad Air 2, Apple has unveiled a new 9.7-inch iPad. Apple is calling the new iPad – that features an A9 chip – the most affordable iPad yet. With an AED 1,299 price tag, it’s hard to disagree.
