The Google x Levi’s smart jacket is coming this fall

And will cost you roughly AED 1,300.

You’ve heard the term wearable tech thrown around for a couple of years now, but the best clothing iteration so far is coming out in fall this year thanks to Levi’s and Google.

First announced two years ago, the connected jacket called the Commuter Trucker is the brainchild of the tech overlord’s Advanced Technology and Products group. The jacket will use Google's Jacquard technology, which uses conductive fabric to turn a standard article of clothing into a connected device of sorts that can send instructions to your smartphone, like pausing or skipping a song that’s playing by double tapping your wrist.

Of course, we already knew most of those details before this year’s SXSW conference. At the festival this year, during a panel titled Beyond the Screens: the Ubiquity of Connectivity, Levi's and Google revealed that the smart trucker jacket will be arriving this fall for $350 (about AED 1,300).

And you thought tech geeks knew nothing about fashion.
