Works by one of the most important and influential pop artists are currently on exhibition in Dubai and are available to buy.

Richard Hambleton has been nicknamed ‘the Godfather of street art’ and was a central figure in the Pop Art boom that sprang out of New York in the 1980s.

During that notorious period Hambleton rubbed shoulders on the gallery scene with the likes of Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Hambleton was mentored by Andy Warhol and in turn he is said to have influenced today’s street art champion Banksy.

The output of Hambleton’s 45-year career is on display for the first time in Dubai at the fashionable Emirates Towers restaurant La Cantine du Faubourg this month, with several limited editions pieces for sale. The exhibition ends on February 15.

The theme of the large pieces is human vulnerability and are acrylic on canvas – prices start from AED 50,000. Below are just some of the works on show.
