It’s that time of year to dig out your dusty vampire cape and put your make-up skills to the test, as Halloween rises from the dead once more. But where are the best places to go?

Once Upon a Time at Provocateur
Where: Provocateur, Four Seasons Dubai.
When: October 28, from 11pm.
What: Swanky Four Seasons nightspot Provacateur is encouraging guests to dress to distress this Halloween in fairytale costumes with a creepy twist. So whether you go for an evil Tinkerbell or a bloodthirsty Captain Hook, this R&B and Hip Hop night is bound to be one of the scariest in the city. Details: provocateurdubai.com

Garden of Sin
Where: Vii Dubai, Conrad Hotel.
When: October 31, from 8pm.

Day of the Dead
Where: Poco Loco, The Beach, opposite JBR.
When: October 31, from 6pm.
What: As Halloween marks the ‘Day of the Dead’ in Mexican culture, it makes sense that Mexican restaurant Poco Loco will be pulling out all the stops. There’ll be live music, face painting and a traditional three-course set menu all for AED 185 a head. Details: pocoloco.ae

Twisted Angels 
Where: Cielo, The Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.
When: October 31, from 8pm.

Halloween Treats at Fume
Where: Fume Dubai, Pier 7 or Manzil Downtown Dubai
When: October 31.
What: Fume is going all out for this year’s Halloween, with children’s costume competitions, themed mixologists and gory decorations on display at both of its outlets. Ball of Horrors

What: This Halloween sees Movida Dubai introduce the Ball of Horrors, and as the name suggests - this isn’t going to be your typical ball. Dead Famous

When: October 30 and 31.
