Dubai's fine-dining Restaurant Week returns for 10 days
A three-course dinner at 15 of the city's best restaurants for just AED 199.Neil Churchill February 15, 2017
Dubai’s fine-dining scene is pretty outrageous. Every six months it feels like another world-famous chef opens a new restaurant, while local cooks regularly lead an unknown eatery into regional stardom before opening their own venue under their burgeoning star.
There probably are some people living in Dubai who eat at one of the city’s top restaurants every night of the week. They’re probably overweight, have gout and blotchy red cheeks, but they’re dining like kings every 24 hours, so who can blame them.
But the reason most of us don’t do that is because in life you get what you pay for. In other words, eating out at the best of the best restaurants isn’t cheap. Which is why Miele Dubai Restaurant Week is such a genius idea.
Part of the Dubai Food Festival, this year sees 15 of the emirate’s best restaurants offer exclusive set menus for just AED 199 per person. Yes, AED 199. That's it. A three-course dinner at most of these places would normally set you back around AED 500 per head; some of the main courses alone are more than AED 199. To call it the UAE's fine dining deal of the year is an understatement.
You can't go wrong with any of the 15 options but you also can't eat at them all in just 10 days. So to be incredibly picky from an already near-perfect list, EDGAR would highlight Okku, Marina Social, Social by Heinz Beck, Pai Thai, Rang Mahal and Gaucho. But that's like picking your favourite Daytona in a vintage Rolex auction.
Miele Dubai Restaurant Week is running from 23 February to 4 March, 7:30pm to 9:30pm, and you can reserve your booking at visitdubai.com/miele-dubai-restaurant-week. The full list of the 15 restaurants taking part is as follows:
