Is this the most fun vehicle on the planet?
September 1, 2014
WaterCar, the makers of the amphibious Panther, claim that it is "the most fun vehicle on the planet", and if this video is anything to go by, they're probably right.
Now, normally we wouldn't be at all impressed by a car with a relatively pedestrian top speed of around 55 miles per hour, but when that car plunges head first into the sea and keeps on going through the water almost as quickly, well, that's a little bit more impressive.
Not only is it comfortable on the road and on water, but it's also pretty handy on sand, which, by our reckoning, makes this car pretty much the perfect machine for thrill-seekers in the UAE. We can just imagine taking one of these out on to the desert dunes, then driving straight down to the beach for a quick dip in the sea to cool off.

After more than 14 years of research and development, the Panther is the first amphibious vehicle built by the WaterCar team at US company Fountain Valley Bodyworks to be offered to the public.
Each Panther built is unique, and the company encourage buyers to get involved in the final appearance of their vehicle by picking the interior and exterior materials, colours and graphics.
And the price for "the most fun vehicle on the planet"? Well, not actually as much as you may expect. For around $155,000 plus whatever is costs to ship it from the USA, it's yours. Let the fun begin.
