‘The new Dubai Marina’ is the nickname of a stunning new development in Business Bay, details of which have been revealed to EDGAR.

Al Habtoor City will be made up of three hotels, more than 20 restaurants, a boardwalk lined with luxury stores alongside the new canal, and a water theatre show that will add a splash of Las Vegas to Dubai.

The live entertainment production is expected to open towards the end of the year in a purpose-built 1,400-seat arena – skip to 3m 25s of the video below. It’s currently being devised and choreographed in Belgium by a team of 70 performers.

The Las Vegas-style aquatic theatre show is curated by Franco Dragone, the mastermind behind shows such as The House of Dancing Water in Macau, La Reve in Las Vegas and The Han Show in China. His super-sized shows fuse acrobatic talents and technical innovations in tailor-made theatres.

Attached to the theatre is the St Regis Hotel, which is already open. Coming in May are two more hotels, The W, and The Westin, plus the Al Habtoor City residential towers.

Linking all three hotels will be The Atrium, set to open in October. Restaurants inside this six-storey building include the Rose & Crown pub and Blind Dragon, a Chinese restaurant and karaoke bar that has a celebrity following at its West Hollywood home.
