This year is turning out to be a brutal one for the integrity of professional sport. The alleged doping crisis that rocked world athletics in 2015 has spilled over and shows no sign of slowing down.
We then had the shock of tennis player Maria Sharapova admitting to using banned substance Meldonium. And now The Sunday Times has claimed that London-based Dr. Mark Bonar prescribed performance-enhancing drugs to over 150 British athletes including footballers from Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester City. All Premier League clubs have denied allegations thus far.
