October 14, 2015

The experts of the watch world will descend upon Dubai on Sunday for the city’s first Watch Week.

Hosted by renowned watch retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG), the five-day event takes place in DIFC and aims to educate people about watch craft through discussion panels, talks given by industry experts and masterclasses.

Of course there’ll be some fun too, with the Rebels of Horology exhibition showcasing the weird and wonderful world of indie watch brands such as Bovet, Cabestan, Greubel Forsey and Hautlence.

Pop into the Farjam Gallery in DIFC to see watches you’ve never seen the like of before. Meanwhile, the winners chosen by the GPHG for 2015 will be on display at the Opera Gallery in DIFC.

A scholarship to the prestigious Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Educational Programme (WOSTEP), worth $35,000 will be awarded to one lucky individual who can prove they are passionate about timepieces. And Christie’s auction house will also play their part, hosting an auction of more than 150 watches at their DIFC venue.

Hurry along to the website to register – the clock is ticking.
