If Novak Djokovic could pick a dream doubles partner from any era of tennis, he might pick René Lacoste. The two players each won their first Grand Slam tournament 83 years apart, but their shared sense of fair play, elegance and tenacity on the tennis court would make them a formidable duo today.

As Djokovic echoes Lacoste’s playing style, he also continues the Frenchman’s legacy of great fashion as the ambassador for the tennis-inspired clothing brand. This month Djokovic – the new crocodile – helps launch the new L192S sunglasses. Stylish and elegant, yet strong and durable, the sunglasses are the ideal accessory for the Serb star.

undefinedThe shape of Lacoste’s new minimalist metal frames with their large lenses, are reminiscent of retro aviator sunglasses. A discreet strip of colour outlines the frames, which is a subtle reference to the piping effect often found on Lacoste’s tennis clothing. The Lacoste name and iconic crocodile logo appear on the right lens of the eyewear that comes in matte shades of grey and light grey, as well as silver.

The incredible history of Lacoste – the man and the brand – has been cleverly referenced in new images that blend the past, when René Lacoste was at the height of his powers, with Djokovic today. What a doubles pair they would have made.
