How is it that the world’s most eminent luxury hotel brand has yet to open a resort in the 5-star, hotel-mad haven that is the UAE? After all, this is the hotel brand that has its own private jet.

But that conundrum will soon be put to bed as Four Seasons Resort Dubai has been confirmed to open later this year.

The resort spans 14 acres with 237 guests rooms and suites – some with balconies big enough to hold a daybed – offering panoramic sea views on one side and the glittering skyline of Downtown Dubai on the other.

Located just off the emirate’s Jumeirah Beach area, the hotel’s architecture will be a mix of Spanish Mediterranean with Arabic accents while its styling has been carried out by San Francisco-based interior designers BAMO. FSdubai1

Aside from the standard rooms, the resort will boast two 5,900 sq ft Presidential Suites – each with its own gym – and a 6,458 sq ft Royal Suite, complete with its own spa, butler’s room and piano, for when you want to entertain your guests.

The pièce de résistance however will be an as yet unrevealed private villa in the hotel’s grounds, similar to the Garden Villa at Dubai’s One&Only Royal Mirage.

There will be 10 food and beverage outlets on site - five independently owned including a Provocateur Night Club – three swimming pools and of course the obligatory spa. FSdubai2 Scheduled for opening on November 1, the hotel’s vertical size will be quite modest on the Dubai hotel scale, in keeping with Jumeirah’s residential surroundings.

It is however in an area sparse with hotels, unlike the room-heavy hotspots of Marina and the Palm. It’s location also puts it in short distance from the business hubs of DIFC and Downtown Dubai, meaning it should appeal to both holidaymakers and business travellers alike.
