How Will Smith spends his time in Dubai
The actor who will be here to host a Suicide Squad screening seemingly can’t get enough of the emirate.Meryl D'Souza August 2, 2016
We told you Suicide Squad is one of the movies you shouldn’t miss this summer. To drive the point home, Will Smith who plays DC’s deadliest marksman, Deadshot in the new flick, will be in Dubai to host a screening in Deira City Centre on August 7.
It would seem the 47-year-old actor is infatuated with Dubai – he’s been visiting our lands at least once every year since 2014. So while he’s here to promote the anti-hero flick and attend the invite-only premiere, we can’t help but feel that the star will be out and about the city doing things us regular folk do. Well, not exactly like us. Here’s how Will Smith spends his time in Dubai.
Impromptu concerts at Barasti
It’s hard to confirm but we assume Will started falling for Dubai in December 2013 when he was here to celebrate his anniversary with Jada Pinkett Smith and fellow actor Tyrese Gibson’s birthday. While partying at Barasti during New Year’s Eve, Will climbed on stage with DJ Jazzy Jeff to drop some of his hottest tracks.
Desert safari with the Crown Prince
Being a Hollywood actor, it’s only fair you get the royal treatment. Will Smith was shown around by Sheikh Hamdan, the Crown Prince of Dubai, who later took the actor on a desert safari.
Getting ready to take the plunge at Inflight Dubai with the Crown Prince
The Crown Prince, who is also a semi-professional skydiver, joined Smith and Gibson for a session before the actors went skydiving in January 2014.
Skydiving with Gibson
Yes, you practice and go through various simulations, but you’d be lying if you said you weren’t/will not be afraid when you’re about to take that step off the plane and fall for what feels like eternity. Even Will Smith was afraid. He says so himself.
Skydiving with his sons
Clearly doing it once wasn’t enough for the star. This time though he chose to share the moment with his sons Jaden and Trey about a month after his first dive.
Teeing off at Emirates Gold Club
When Rory Mcllroy, two-time PGA Player Of The Year, compliments someone on his swing, you better not argue. The two met when Smith visited the Majlis Course at Emirates Golf Club in 2014. At the time, Mcllroy was here practising for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.
Date night with the wife
No matter how big a Hollywood star you become, you have to take your wife out for date night every once in a while. Of course you don’t need to fly from LA all the way to Dubai to do it like Smith does, but you should do something.
