A Cut Above

Prime beef is now available at a new celebrity-owned VIP butcher’s shop

Dubai’s love affair with beef continues with news of a new high-end steak restaurant and butcher’s shop opening its doors in DIFC. The restaurant has the wonderfully to-the-point name of Beefbar and is owned by ex-Formula One mogul Flavio Briatore, who recently opened Crazy Fish in Dubai as well as the popular Billionaire Mansion last year.

Beefbar in Al Fattan Currency House is the sixth outpost of restaurateur and businessman Riccardo Giraudi’s slick restaurant chain after Hong Kong, Mexico, Mykonos, Cannes and his original spot in Monaco.

While the restaurant is sure to be a hit (steak + DIFC = kerching) the adjoining Beefbar Butcher Shop is intriguing. A wide selection of steaks are available to buy, such as a AED 250 per kg skirt steak from Australia and a tomahawk at AED 650, all the way up to a fillet of Japanese Kobe beef with the meaty price tag of AED 3,300 per kilo.

All cuts come beautifully packaged in old fashioned butcher’s paper and a fancy black box. All you have to do is take it home and cook it like the expert chefs at Beefbar.
