1. There are four versions of iPhone 12
Apple has created four different versions of iPhone 12 that each come with a new price point. There’s the iPhone 12 Mini (AED 2,999), iPhone 12 (AED 3,399), iPhone 12 Pro (AED 4,199) and iPhone Pro Max (AED 4,699). They all share the Super Retina XDR screen, which is brighter and carries more clarity. And they all have the A14 Bionic ship, which make them the fastest and most powerful phones to date. They also come with the Ceramic Shield that - Apple say - will make your screen more robust than ever.
2. Apple is banking on 5G taking off
US telecoms carrier Verizon stepped up to the stage to announce the 5G roll out. The significance of this move is to not only confirm that the network will allow broadband-esque speeds on your phone while you’re out and about, but that iPhone 12 is best equipped to make the most of it. Take for example, the fact that Apple also rolled out Riot Games, creator of one of the most popular PC titles in the world, League of Legends, to announce an online game specifically for iPhone 12. It’s a huge deal that’s sure to entice millions more to switch to Apple.
3. The iPhone 12 Pro Max is a film-maker’s dream
The all-singing, all-dancing iPhone Pro Max 12 is the big boy of the bunch. It’s the one that’s packed with the most cutting edge tech that the money is no object crowd will snap up. It’s also packed with all the tools you’d need to be able to create an Oscar-winning movie. With the best camera of the bunch, and an ability to record through Dolby Vision that adapts to filming conditions, you can be turning those special clips into noteworthy epics in no time.
4. MagSafe is the understated star of the show
A tidy little feature that the iPhone 12 has is MagSafe. This little magnetic pouch snaps to the back of your phone and can be used for wireless charging, all you have to do is plug in a USB charger wire and you’re good to go. The MagSafe Duo Charger folds out so you can recharge your phone and Apple Watch on the same surface. Essentially, this means you can always carry a charger around with you, which is good because…
5. You don’t get a power adapter or earpods anymore
Apple’s commitment to being carbon-neutral by 2030 stretches further than its components being made with recycled materials. The knock-on effect to us is that a) the iconic box you get your new iPhone in is much smaller because b) there’s no power adapter or earpods packaged with them anymore. You still get a USB charging wire, but the bulky power block is no more. Chances are, you’ve probably already got one or at least another device where you can charge your iPhone 12 from.
iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini launch on October 23 and November 13 respectively. iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max launch on October 23 and November 13 respectively.
