Apple Unveils Two New iPads

Words by Nathan Irvine

Surprise! Apple has just revealed a new iPad Mini and iPad Air.

Without the faintest of fanfares, Apple just announced it has two new iPads – the iPad Air and iPad Mini. What’s even more surprising than the lack of build up is the fact they’re out next week.

The iPad Air arrives with a 10.5 inch retina screen that works with the latest Apple Pen. It’s all new A12 biochip means more grunt for exceptional graphics and processing power.

It also comes with a lower entry-level price point – just AED 1,999.

Apple Gaming on iPad is about to become a whole lot slicker

The 7.9 inch iPad Mini has undergone similar tweaks and marks the most powerful version yet. It starts at AED 1,599.

As expected, both have had camera upgrades. They can now take 1080p video quality, which can be edited in double-quick time via iMovies or whatever app you usually use.

The timing of the announcement, we feel, is significant.

Apple will host its annual event at its Cupertino HQ on March 25. It’s widely expected to that Apple’s Netflix rival will be revealed there.

By unveiling these iPads now, means the show can concentrate on the rumoured original TV content reveals. Or, quite possibly, the foldable phone industry insider’s seem convinced is on the way.

Apple’s iPad Air and iPad Mini are available week beginning Sunday, March 24 from stores. You can pre-order both now via apple.com
