There's a lot of fake news and misinformation doing the rounds on social media and the internet right now. It's confusing to find the answers you're looking for, especially when it's how to fight the coronavirus.
The current pandemic has gripped the world. It has shut down events, sporting fixtures, borders and even entire countries. So what can you actually do to help stop the spread and strengthen yourself against it?
Well, we asked an expert this very question.
Dr Nasr Al-Jafari is the Medical Director at the DNA Health Center located within Jumeirah Al Qasr, Madinat Jumeirah. With more than 15 years experience in the medical industry he's well placed to give advice.
With a focus on a patient-centric, science-based healing, he's a more reliable source for help than your preferred internet search engine.
Here's what he had to say.

Opinion leaders across the globe are sharing insights and recommendations concerning the coronavirus and of course we all need to stay vigilant and safe. As a father of two, and a medical professional for 15 years, my ongoing approach to patient care is that prevention is better than cure. With the current news cycle sharing 24/7 updates, the key pointers are:
- Are you in an area where there is a community outbreak?
- Are you an individual who is at risk or do you live in close proximity to an individual who might be at risk?
When defining the term "risk", it is not necessarily only about being “old” (age 55+). Other points that can put you under the "at-risk" category are:
- Type 1 and 2 diabetes
- Smoking
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Underlying history of lung disease
It’s worth noting that young children are at low risk in terms of the illness and seem to be largely protected against the virus. Of course with any illness, no one is fully immune or protected which is why following a meticulous hand washing regime and maintaining personal hygiene is key.
