Are you in an area where there is a community outbreak?
Are you an individual who is at risk or do you live in close proximity to an individual who might be at risk?
When defining the term "risk", it is not necessarily only about being “old” (age 55+). Other points that can put you under the "at-risk" category are:
Type 1 and 2 diabetes
Underlying history of lung disease
It’s worth noting that young children are at low risk in terms of the illness and seem to be largely protected against the virus. Of course with any illness, no one is fully immune or protected which is why following a meticulous hand washing regime and maintaining personal hygiene is key.
Carry on regardless... to an extent
Where possible, yes avoid going to crowded areas. But as with all aspects of life, it’s still important to retain balance and normality in your everyday life. In terms of a few tips to strengthen your immune system here are some suggestions...
Take a hike in nature: Ras Al Khaimah and Hatta are ideal at this time of the year
Ensure you sleep properly: ideally eight hours every night
Cut out the sugar and the starch: this suppresses your immune system
Take Vitamin D
Eat whole foods
Don’t stress too much because that reduces your immune system too
