Bentley Unveils Special Continental GT Number 9

Words by Nathan Irvine

Only 100 of the extremely limited edition vehicles will be made.

Bentley has just revealed a special edition of its iconic Continental GT. The “Number 9” is put together by long-time Bentley collaborator Mulliner and only 100 vehicles will roll off the production line. So if you want one, you better be quick. And, you know, rich.

The car is born from Bentley’s rich racing heritage. Specifically, “Number 9” relates to the vehicle that Sir Henry Ralph Stanley ‘Tim’ Birkin raced in the 1930 Le Mans 24-hour race.

The “Number 9” incorporates several homages to the original machine in its design. From the exclusive British Jaeger 1930’s inspired clock on the dash, to 18-karat gold plated organ stops that were all the rage for racing cars back then.

It also comes in two colours – Viridian green, which you can see above, and Beluga black, and even has the number “9” on the grille.

Bentley plans to unveil one of the actual vehicles and more information at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show on March 7. We’ll most likely find out the price, too, so start saving your dirhams now.
