Bentley waves goodbye to its flagship vehicle

Alas, it is time to wave goodbye to one of Bentley’s most cherished models. After 40 years at the top of the luxury vehicle game, the Mulsanne will cease production in 2020. To commemorate the occasion, Bentley is creating just 30 Mulsanne 6.75 Edition vehicles handcrafted in the UK with the help of the legendary Mullinar.

The 6.75 Edition takes its name from the long-standing V8 6.75 litre engine, which is also celebrating its 60th year in production.

If you’re lucky enough to bag one of the last ever Mulsanne’s you’ll get to choose from Imperial Blue, Beluga, Fireglow and Newmarket Tan as the interior colour themes. All finished with stunning silver accents and presented in the high standards the Bentley is renowned for.

It will also sit on 21″ five-spoke Mulsanne Speed rims and pack a meaty 530bhp V8 under the hood.

But why is Bentley getting rid of its luxurious limo? Well, it intends to replace the Mulsanne as its flagship vehicle with the exquisite Flying Spur from spring 2020 onwards. And interestingly, Bentley is working on a hybrid powertrain for its new star and aiming for a 2023 launch.

It’ll be sad to see Mulsanne riding off into the sunset, but at least it’s getting a fitting send off.
