NewsCadillac’s XT5 Makes its Middle East Debut

Words by Nathan Irvine

The US car giant finally brings its most popular SUV to the region

There are many reasons why the 2019 Cadillac XT5 is the company’s best-selling vehicle.

For example, the American car manufacturer has packed it with the latest technology and serves it up in a stylish package that actually makes an SUV desirable. And it’s finally available in the Middle East.

So what’s it got? Well, the XT5 is powered by a 3.6 litre V6 engine that pumps out a deceptively quick 310 horsepower. In layman’s terms, this means it won’t let you down when you brave the fast lane on Sheikh Zayed Road.

In terms of the aforementioned tech, the XT5 is packed with more gadgets and gizmos than your average Gitex Shopper Expo. From a stop/start function that kicks in when the car is stationary in traffic, to the upgraded CUE (read: Cadillac Use Experience) that controls everything from navigation, music and climate control – the XT5 is a driver’s dream.

In fact, with Cadillac’s patented Driver Awareness and Assist packages being able to brake, keep lane and help you park, it’s almost like having your own self-driving car. Almost.

And finally, for its big GCC debut, Cadillac has introduced four new exterior colours, including Red Horizon Tintcoat and Dark Mocha Metallic. It also has a plush new interior of super-soft leather that’s finished with a Sapele wood accent trim.

Christian Soemmer, managing director of Cadillac Middle East, says, “Since its launch, the Cadillac XT5 has been a real trailblazer in the mid-size luxury SUV segment across the globe. With sophisticated looks, spacious cabin and outstanding technology, the XT5 makes for an exceptional driving experience.”

The Cadillac XT5 is available now; AED 180,000
