Dubai is Getting its Own Hollywood Walk of Fame

Emaar has just announced plans for The Dubai Stars. The new project that’s set to take shape on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, in Downtown Dubai will be a place to commemorate global celebrities.

The Dubai Stars will be the latest attraction for the emirate, and will mimic the Hollywood Walk of Fame as a major tourist destination.

Interestingly, the first 400 individuals will be chosen by the general public via online polls and social media.

Any superstar is open to the vote, too. Emaar also advises that even influencers will be immortalised with a concrete slab.

The plan is to have more than 10,000 stars on the walk way, which is even more than LA’s iconic district.

Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director of Emaar Properties says “With Dubai Stars we are further highlighting our commitment to making Dubai the best city in the world.”

He continues, “We will promote arts, culture and sports by saluting the stars whose contributions continue to inspire the world.”

The Dubai Stars is set to open in October 2019, with the first 400 stars chosen expected to attend the glitzy event.
