Five essential menswear pieces for the warmer months

The tropical shirt

Palm Angels shirt.

“Camp collar shirts have become a staple in my summer wardrobe over the past few seasons, carrying me from brunch to beach. Showcased in many variations on the SS20 runway, I’ll be investing in the Palm Angels take that references the Hawaiian shirt trend seen in Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet.”

The utility short

Prada men's shorts.

“Shorts have evolved over the years in a variety of fabrics, styles and cuts. I love how Prada have blurred the lines between style and practicality with their lightweight nylon utility shorts. The pockets will be perfect for storing all my essentials this summer.”

The chino pant

Dolce & Gabbana men's chino.

“This season on the runways we saw a refreshing change from the usual sea of streetwear to the return of tailoring and the versatile chino pant. I’ll be teaming mine with everything, from basic t-shirts to smarter linen, tropical shirts and loafers. My favourite this season has to be this Dolce & Gabbana high-waisted beige pair with pleated detailing that’ll add a sartorial flair to my weekend wardrobe.”

The perfect tee

Onia men's t-shirt

“Every man’s wardrobe should have at least one staple white t-shirt in it. I love Onia’s linen offering, which I’ll be pairing with resort shorts, or under structured suit jackets for a relaxed take on the latest suiting trend.”

The swim short

Frescobol Carioca swim shorts.

“When it comes to swimwear, Frescobol Carioca know how to make a well-designed pair of shorts. I’ll be wearing the mosaic style that look as good in the pool as they do lunching poolside. I love the mosaic print that’s inspired by the famous beachside walkways of Ipanema in Rio.”
