New releaseFive reasons to love the Adidas Nite Jogger

Words by Rob Chilton

Adidas has delved into its archive to find inspiration for the retro – and reflective – Nite Jogger shoe. Here are five things we love about it.

1. The 1970s are having a fashion moment right now and these new Adidas sneakers continue the trend. The Nite Jogger is a reboot of the 1976 shoe of the same name and whenever Adidas Originals takes a look around its impressive archive, it’s usually a good thing.

2. There wasn’t much sneaker technology knocking around in the 1970s so, unsurprisingly, Adidas has applied some modern know-how to this 2019 summer release. By implementing its dreamy Boost midsole, the Nite Jogger provides a super bouncy walk that ensures all-day comfort and helpful energy return.

3. Superlight, breathable and springy, the Nite Jogger’s upper is constructed from mesh and nylon ripstop with a nice touch of suede to reinforce that 1970s retro feel. A sneaker equipped with this kind of classy design comes with a price tag of AED 650.

4. When the sun sets, the Nite Jogger comes to life with dazzling reflective material on the toe, heel tab, Three Stripes and a zigzag down the ankle – key weapons if you’re aiming to catch the eye of the style crowd after dark.

Duck egg and orange is a hit

5. Colour is cool this summer, especially in the world of sneakers – but we’re not talking gaudy reds and yellows. EDGAR is a big fan of the subtle, more pastel shades seen on sneakers this season, such as the awesome combination of orange and duck egg on one incarnation of the Nite Jogger.
