Godzilla vs. Kong is the biggest fight of the year

Warner Bros. Pictures has just unveiled its latest epic battle to hit the big screen, Godzilla vs. Kong. As the title suggests, this blockbuster movie pits everybody’s favourite skyscraper-sized ape, King Kong against the Tokyo wrecking Godzilla.

Let’s take a look at the dramatic trailer, shall we?

Fight, fight, fight!

What’s interesting to note at this point is Godzilla appears to be the villain. The scaly behemoth was original billed as a human bothering beast back in the beginning, but comics and TV shows have worked hard to portray it as an anti-hero recently.

Of course, this could be clever misdirection by the trailer. But giving King Kong a backstory of a friendship with a little girl is hardly grounds for the great ape to become the baddie. One thing is for sure is that there was a previous beef between the two and this titanic battle is about to unveil much more about them.

Godzilla vs. Kong also stars Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Kyle Chandler (The Wolf of Wall Street) and Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood). It looks set to be one of those perfect leave-your-brain-at-the-door movies that we love.

Godzilla vs. Kong is in cinemas and streaming on HBO Max from March 26.
