The biggest compliment we can pay to the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa is that it feels like you could be anywhere in the world there. Sure, it’s a cliché but when you head out for a staycation you want to feel like you’ve escaped your surroundings even if you’ve only travelled in a car for a couple of hours. That’s what we have here.
It offers panoramic views of the glistening Arabian Gulf from each of its rooms and villas, and comes with its own private beach. On the other side, skyscrapers are replaced with a rugged mountain range that will sate your wanderlust.
Our abode for the stay was a two-bed family villa with a private pool. It’s a roomy setup with that’s perfect for you and your brood or, as we noticed around us, with a group of friends. Brilliantly, there’s a spacious crib on hand for those bringing small children with them.
There are HDTVs dotted all around the villa, but we didn’t just rock up here to be glued to another screen. That pool on the doorstep is the big attraction. Oh, and the the man that cycles up and down the coast with a menu full of refreshingly cold snacks or beverages. And having an unspoiled private beach a flip-flop throw away from the villa isn’t too bad either.
