Josh O’Connor visits Japan for Loewe

Words by Rob Chilton

From the palace to parkas, the star of The Crown explores the great outdoors.

As Prince Charles in The Crown, Josh O’Connor was kitted out in impeccably-cut suits and tweeds from the 1960s and 1970s. A far different wardrobe awaited the in-demand British actor for this shoot in Japan’s magnificent Fuji-Hakone Izu National Park. With Mount Fuji in the distance, O’Connor trekked through misty valleys, explored ancient bamboo groves and canoed on Lake Aishi while wearing the SS20 range of outdoor gear from the Eye/Loewe/Nature collection.

The technical clothing is made from organic cotton and recycled polyester and for every piece sold, Loewe will donate Euro 15 to environmental causes, something that would get the Royal seal of approval from the eco-minded Prince of Wales. O’Connor can next be seen in cinemas in February’s Jane Austen movie Emma.
