Meet the world’s first globally connected hypercar

Words by Nathan Irvine

Electric dream machine.

Italian luxury hypercar maker Automobili Pininfarina has entered a partnership with Deutsche Telekom to create a one-of-a-kind car. With the help of the German telecommunications group, Automobili Pininfarina’s pure electric vehicle, Battista, will have seamless global roaming tech.

What this means is that owners of the amazing hypercar will have access to a number of unique features to improve their ride and much more.

Each Battista will have a SIM embedded in it. This will then automatically seek out the best internet network in more than 50 different countries. All from the comfort of your racing seat.

The good stuff

Inside the Battista, you’ll find smartphone mirroring features via two unique touchscreens. Being permanently connected also means you can constantly keep an eye on the battery charge, GPS and other stats.

Best of all, you’ll be able to update your Battista with software updates. 26 individual parts of the car can be digitally tuned to make the car, amongst other things, handle better and drive faster.

Now if only we had a spare few million dirhams to afford one…
