Montblanc’s new Summit Lite smartwatch wants to take care of you

Words by Rob Chilton

Health and wellbeing have been prioritised in the tech timepiece

Montblanc’s smartwatch, the elegant Summit model, appeared on wrists in 2017 and since then the high-end brand has produced handsome watches with helpful tech. Summit 2 was released a year later, then came Summit 2+ and now we see the Summit Lite. What’s the deal? Cheaper, lighter, sportier – and more geared to your wellbeing.

The 42mm Summit 2 retails for AED 3,955 and is a smartwatch disguised as a sophisticated mechanical watch. But the latest release, the 43mm Summit Lite comes in at AED 3,220 and is firmly in the tech arena, promising to improve your physical and mental health with a series of tools.

Three pushers and a crown help you skip around functions

Made of recycled aluminium and stainless steel, the watch is both eco-friendly and lightweight. A rotating crown and three pushers help you navigate the smooth 3cms screen, while a case of matte black or silvery grey combined with a rubber or fabric strap look eye-catching. Water-resistant to 50 metres, there’s a heart rate monitor, GPS, microphone and Wear OS by Google all under the Gorilla glass cover.
