Dubai jazz fans will be excited to learn they have a new venue in which to kick back, unloosen their skinny tie and hear some cool cats playing hot tunes. The Green Room Jazz Club opens on November 1 above the sophisticated Galvin bistro in City Walk. The laidback lounge will specialise in two things: jazz and cocktails. A rotating pool of local jazz talent will perform at the classy venue, with jam sessions also on the calendar. Handcrafted cocktails will be served by expert bartenders.
In true jazz club fashion, The Green Room will open its doors late, 9pm to 2am, Tuesday to Friday. In charge is Dubai bar creator John Gillespie and Adam Long who have been orchestrating smart music and cocktail events around the city for years. The pair met when Gillespie booked Long, a talented saxophonist, to play at one of his parties in 2010.
