Travel hotlist: Corneliani’s Stefano Gaudioso Tramonte

For Stefano Gaudioso Tramonte, travel is best when it’s uncomplicated. “I enjoy the simple things like discovering museums and exhibitions or simply relaxing on a beautiful beach,” says the global style director of Corneliani. “I love to travel and discover new cultures.” The style expert spoke to EDGAR about the places in the world that have a special place in his heart.

CITY

“New York is absolutely one of my favourite cities in the world. It’s so vibrant and it inspires me enormously. I really have such a special connection with New York, which is hard to explain, but the energy draws me in. No matter how many times I visit, I seem to always discover something new and I really love that.”

LONG-HAUL

“One of my favourite long-haul holiday destinations is Mexico, it’s wonderful because you can have a vacation while discovering historical sites, sea life and stunning landscapes. I always rent a car and discover the country with my family. Uxmal is one of the most well-preserved Mayan sites near Merida in Mexico. It’s an impressive structure with such a beautiful story and is the weirdest and most fascinating place I have ever seen.”

CULTURE

“What I really love about Istanbul is the mix of people and cultures, history and traditions, with architectural and urban avant-garde that creates such a magical atmosphere. It’s a city that’s very close to my heart and I try to go whenever I can. My favourite place in Istanbul is the Blue Mosque – every time I visit I’m hypnotised by the magnificent mosaics and design.”

ISLAND

“I travel a lot for business so when I do have free time, I love spending it with my beautiful family, especially my two lovely daughters. We usually spend the summer in Greece, which is a country that I love for the people, who are always so kind and welcoming. I love the sea, with its incredible shades of blue and the variety of islands, which are so full of tradition.”

“The island of Spetses is my second home as we have a holiday house there and it’s where I can really relax, switch off and enjoy a simple life away from the big city. My favourite thing to do here is have dinner on the beach, eating fresh fish that the local fishermen have just caught and enjoying the sunset with my family.”
