Yes, they really are noise cancelling
It’s almost terrifying when you slip them onto your ears. Like stepping into a diving bell at the bottom of the ocean. Outside noises are quickly silenced as your lug holes are hugged by the soft leather. They create an utterly bizarre experience, but exactly what you would want from them. You can adjust the level of noise cancellation by tapping the button on the left earpiece or by using the Bose app on your phone.
They’re subtle with the bass
That’s not to say that they don’t have the ability to bump your brain around if you ramp the volume up. But Bose 700 headphones focus on clarity rather than pure power. The combination of the noise cancelling and excellent sound stage means that audiobooks and podcasts feel incredibly intimate.
Voice pickup is very good indeed
There appears to be mics all around the headset. This just elevates the quality of your voice that can be picked up during that important call you’re having to take on-the-go. We’ll go as far as to suggest that they act as a decent adhoc podcast mic… but only for those that record solo, obviously.
It has a great battery charge
Two things: it can last up to 20 hours on one single, full charge. And secondly, it doesn’t really take very long to get the battery up to one hour’s worth of charge, which is great for those that forget to plug it in overnight.
The button placement could be better
It doesn’t matter how careful we seem to be with the Bose 700 when taking it on and off, we always seem to accidentally touch the on-ear buttons. This means inadvertently changing the noise cancellation levels or turning it off completely.
