The dumb blonde thing…
You know, I didn’t exactly say that sentence [about people having lower expectations], I think it was taken a little out of context, but over the course of my career it’s true that if I do actually finish a sentence people act like I’m a genius.

I’ve been campaigning for animal rights for 20 years…
I’m always shocked people are still surprised by it. When I put a resume together for my website, to see all the things I’ve been doing over the past 20 or so years, I shocked myself by it.

I hope I’ve made a difference…
I’ve been doing the best I can [for animal rights] for as long as I can remember and I hope that it’s at least raised awareness.

I fell in love with Dubai…
I wanted to come back here [to Dubai]. I came around six years ago and again in 2013, and just fell in love with the place, so I definitely want to do more in the Middle East.

The best advice I’ve been given?
Just be yourself. That’s the hardest thing to be in my industry. You always try to please people. That’s impossible to maintain.

Playboy was fun at the time…
I don’t regret anything at all, but you know, being a mum of two teenage boys, I think they suffered a little over that. You don’t think about it when you’re doing it of course. I have a different attitude about it than they do, but they still have to go through these things. Now everything is fine. But you know it’s part of my career.

Hugh Hefner is one of the best people on the planet…
He’s full of wisdom, full of charisma. He’s a pioneer; he does great things and is one of the best fighters for women’s rights, and human rights. An incredible person.

I couldn’t believe people’s bodies when I first went to LA…
“Well, you know, they have fake boobs” people told me. I couldn’t believe it. I went, “Sign me up, this ain’t fair. It’s not an even playing field.” Within a couple of weeks I did it.

How did I react to fame?
Well I married a rock star, actually, I married two, but the good thing about that is that you’re left with a great iPod in the divorce.

People always talk about reinvention in a career…
But I haven’t really followed that path. Mine is more of an honest evolution. I’ve always been authentic. Except for the boobs.

I have things I want to do now…
I’m doing lots of design work with furniture and clothing, and I’ve been asked to work on hotels too so that’s huge and potentially the next phase of my career.

I’m glad I’ve created a brand…
When I get old and the hair starts to grey and the teeth fall out, the cartoon character can still live on!
