Of all the superhero powers ever dreamed up, the ability to shoot fireballs from your bare hands has to be among the coolest. Sure, flying might be quite a thrill and invisibility would certainly have its advantages, but when it comes to sheer pointless awesomeness, you just can’t beat fire.

So you can imagine our excitement when we found out about Pyro: a device which, when attached to a wrist, allows the wearer to literally shoot fireballs at will! Yeah, we didn’t believe it either - but just watch the video above and prepare to be amazed.

Created by American magician and inventor Adam Wilber, Pyro is a small, black wristband that contains a material called nitrocellulose (better known as flash cotton), which is ignited and fired, creating a genuine fireball.

Although it creates a pretty spectacular effect, flash cotton is actually pretty cheap (around AED 25 for a refill) and has been widely used by magicians for decades in order to produce that instant flame effect we so often see in modern magic.

In fact, the device is actually recommended to be used only by professional magicians, and although it’s available online and can be shipped anywhere in the world, the sellers are extremely quick to note that they will only sell to over 18s and the product is governed by the laws of the country in which it is bought.

Priced at around AED 640, Pyro can be fired four times consecutively before it needs to be refilled, and comes with an initial ammunition of 50 shots. That may sound like a lot, but we reckon you would use all 50 in an instant. Better order some refills too, then.
