Weekend GuideThree Things to do in Dubai This Weekend: Vigo, CrossFit, Vans

Words by EDGAR Daily

Tired of the usual “10 Things to do This Weekend”? Yep, so are we. Instead of that nonsense, we’re going to share what Team EDGAR is up to. Catch you there!

Rob’s off to the flicks, Tom’s getting pumped up and Gareth is ogling at vintage sneakers. Again. But this time at a skatepark…

Rob: Green Book

I cannot wait to sink down into my cinema seat and watch Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali in Green Book. This real-life drama is getting Oscar buzz for its story of a racist chauffeur (Mortensen) who is assigned to drive a brilliant pianist (Ali) on a concert tour around the Deep South of America in the 1960s.

Book your tickets for Green Book through Vox, Roxy or Reel.

Tom: CrossFit Games

I’ll be getting as close as possible to some real life Herculeses (yes, this is a word). Dubai has its very own CrossFit-certified event, and it’s on this weekend at the Dubai Tennis Stadium.

You can read more about our healthy enthusiasm for CrossFit here.

So, I will be watching in awe as the fittest athletes on the planet (including Mat Fraser and Sara Sigmundsdottir) clang and bang their way through some gruelling workouts. Scantily clad – hopefully. Book your tickets for Dubai’s CrossFit Games.

Gareth: House of Vans

I’ll be the awkward 30-year-old mingling with young skaters at the House of Vans event this weekend. Vans Middle East have transformed a DIFC penthouse into a skatepark. There are loads of activities planned for the weekend including musical guests, open mics and customisation workshops. See you guys there.

The event, on 13th and 14th December is free to enter. Register on houseofvansdubai.com

Location: 43rd Floor Penthouse, Central Park Tower, DIFC.
